The world of golf with Jack Nicklaus at Cap Cana

The best golfer of all times, Jack Nicklaus, known as the “Golden Bear”, is one of the most prominent present day golf course designers in the world. Cap Cana will have three golf courses under the Nicklaus Design signature. Construction of these 3 courses implies an investment of more than 42 million dollars.

With a larger number of golf courses than any other country in the Caribbean, the Dominican Republic is in a privileged position in the world of golf. With the Punta Espada Golf course, the first by Jack Nicklaus, Cap Cana will manage to reinforce this prestigious reputation by becoming the only spot in the region that will have three golf courses with the Jack Nicklaus signature and design, in a single tourism real estate development.

Punta Espada enjoys privileged natural surroundings by having a total of its 18 holes with a view of the Caribbean Sea, and 8 of them with ocean frontage, making it an irresistible course for golfers. Its design incorporates the natural characteristics of the landscape into its topography: the cliffs, the beach, the cove, and the green vegetation, guaranteeing the enjoyment of golfers of all levels, including those who participate in world championships.

Only four months after it was inaugurated, it was selected as one of the 100 best golf courses, outside of the United States, in the latest ranking published by the well known American magazine “Golf Digest.” Its article points out the spectacular entrance of this course into the ranking where it participates for the first time, indicating that it has ensured its permanence in this ranking. In February 2009 it raised to #1 of this ranking list!

These recognitions join that of the well known American magazine “Forbes,” which selected Cap Cana´s Punta Espada as one of the 10 best golf courses in the Caribbean. Likewise, the prestigious and well-known magazine Robb Report´s “Best of the Best” selected Punta Espada as one of the most extraordinary golf courses in the world.
